Angel Wicky
Victoria Wicky: directing and television
Interviews describe the practical work behind Wicky’s performances, from writing a script to working with effects artists.
Explaining direction on television
Wicky was a guest on Show Jana Krause in an episode recorded at Prague’s Divadlo Archa on March 10, 2015 and broadcast the following day. She described writing scripts, checking sound and light, and directing movement and expression in front of the camera. She also recalled enjoying a comic role as the manager of a nightclub complex.
Developing a character
In a December 2017 interview with Honza Vojtíšek for Howard magazine, she discussed a Pinhead-inspired role in an adult production. She prepared by watching Hellraiser and consulting comics. This was a separate production inspired by the character. Earlier interviews had already described her interest in costumes, hairstyles and locations, and her habit of reviewing finished photographs and films.
Preparing the appearance
Her account separated two stages: about two hours for a face mould and costume measurements, then eight hours of preparation on the filming day. Three effects artists from Los Angeles worked on the appearance alongside a costume designer. In the same interview, she dated the launch of her own production operation and website to 2017; she had begun directing in 2012.
